Graduate School Alumni Society Awards
The Graduate School at Penn State is now accepting nominations for the 2024 graduate alumni recognition awards. Members of the University community are invited to nominate qualified alumni for an award. The 2024 awards program includes the Early Career Award, Lifetime Achievement Award and Humanitarian Award.
Nominations are due Oct. 1 and must be submitted online.
Recipients will be honored at the Graduate School Alumni Recognition Dinner on Saturday, March 23, 2024, at the Penn Stater Conference Center. Descriptions of the awards can be found below, and you can view the 2023 recipients and an archive of recipients here.

Early Career Award
The Early Career Award recognizes Penn State alumni who have demonstrated exceptional success in their chosen field within the first ten years after obtaining their graduate degree. This can be demonstrated in a number of ways. Examples include, but are not limited to, demonstrated leadership, substantive contributions in one's field, or national/international recognition for one's contributions.
Humanitarian Service Award
The GSAS Humanitarian Service Award recognizes an alumnus/alumna holding a graduate degree from Penn State who has made a positive societal impact on the welfare of humankind beyond the responsibilities of one's profession. This includes a significant contribution benefiting one's community, state, and/or nation, or people of other nations.
Lifetime Achievement Award
The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes Graduate School alumni who have achieved exceptional success in their profession, and have demonstrated loyalty to the University and Alumni Association.
