Design Option
The Design Option focuses on the design of a product, whether that be in 3-dimensional or digital space. Design work could include a variety of design products such as a 3-dimensional object, a video game, a computer-aided design (CAD), simulations, musical composition, or other design object.
The Design Option is open to all students who are currently enrolled in a graduate degree program at Penn State.
Exhibitors will present the design product itself and 2-dimensional materials, similar to a poster, that explain the scholarly context in which the design is grounded. This supporting 2-dimensional material may include research for the work, working drawings, drafting and thumbnail sketches that support the design product. All materials must be presented in terms accessible to the general public.
