P1 - Procedure for Protection of Graduate Student Publication Rights

Procedure

  1. Advisers planning to assign graduate students to research projects with publication restrictions must complete the form “Request for Approval of a Graduate Student to Participate in Research with Restrictions on Publication”, available from the Office of Sponsored Programs.
  2. The completed form with all signatures must be submitted to the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Fox Graduate School for approval before any work on the project begins.
  3. The student’s adviser is responsible for informing the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education and Dean of the Fox Graduate School is any of the conditions of approval (e.g., project plan, contingency plan, relationship of project to degree requirements, etc.) changes within 30 days.
