Penn State doctoral candidate wins award for international student advocacy
Saiber Shaikh, a Penn State doctoral candidate in counselor education, has been awarded the 2025 Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Award for her outstanding advocacy, research, and mentorship supporting international students. Drawing on personal experience, she champions culturally responsive education, ethical use of artificial intelligence, and inclusive practices that amplify marginalized voices in academia.
