Graduate Student International Research Award
The Graduate Student International Research Award promotes and supports graduate student international research and scholarship that has potential for global impact. The award is to be used for travel, living expenses, and/or research-related costs (e.g., laboratory or fieldwork supplies; specialized software; costs associated with access to or reproduction of special collections; translation fees; etc.). This award may be combined with other funding sources. Pending receipt of qualified applications, at least one award will be supported annually based upon eligible costs and funding required, as identified in the selected application.
To be eligible, applicants must be enrolled in an M.S., M.A or Ph.D. program (research degrees) with a required thesis or dissertation; be in good academic standing, with a minimum GPA of 3.5; have completed all required course work for their degree with the exception of completion of required research (Ph.D. students must have passed their comprehensive examination at time of application, not award); be conducting research outside the United States that will be incorporated into their thesis or dissertation; and plan to use the award for projects that will take place and be completed within the upcoming year (summer/fall/spring). Only one award is allowable per student (prior recipients are not eligible to reapply). University employees receiving educational privileges are not eligible for this University scholarship/award in accordance with Penn State policies HR36 and HR38.
