This spring semester the Graduate Writing Center (GWC) is offering three workshops co-led by instructors from the sciences and the humanities. Participants will learn how to apply genre conventions (January 23), storytelling (February 6), and style (February 21) in their writing.

Penn State Graduate School alumna Dana H. Born received the 2018 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Board of Trustees. This award is the University's highest honor presented to its alumni, and Born was one of eight alumni to receive the award this year.

African-American students to present research at University Park symposium
African-American undergraduate and graduate students at Penn State who previously have presented research posters at symposiums will present their posters at a Research Symposium and Reception, hosted by the Alliance for Education, Science, Engineering and Development in Africa in honor of Black History Month. The event will be held Feb. 27 in the Alumni Fireside Lounge of the Nittany Lion Inn. Students, staff and faculty from all colleges University-wide are invited and welcome to attend.
