The Africana Research Center is located in the College of the Liberal Arts in 217 Willard Building. The mission of the Center is “to promote research and scholarship that will advance the historical and contemporary understanding and enhancement of the lives of African Americans, Africans, and Afro-Caribbean peoples. To also serve as a catalyst for promoting an enabling environment where cultural production and discourse on diversity can be nurtured to advance the research, teaching, and outreach mission of Penn State University.” Graduate students can apply for research grants through the Africana Research Center.
