Recognizing Excellence in Graduate Education
The Graduate School recognizes excellence in graduate education through a variety of award programs for students and faculty with funding derived from institutional resources as well as gifts from donors. Some awards are selected centrally from nominations and applications that are submitted to the Graduate School (though most require support from academic programs) and others are offered by way of funding allocations to colleges in order to support recruitment and retention of high-achieving students.
Recipients of the following Graduate School award programs are selected by central committees that include members of our graduate faculty. Applications and nominations are submitted to the Graduate School's Office of Graduate Fellowships and Awards Administration. Inquiries regarding these programs can be directed to the Office of Graduate Fellowships and Awards Administration.
- Student Recognition Awards

Please note: Penn State student awards are disbursed via recipients' Bursar accounts in accordance with federal, state, and University requirements. Eligibility for all funding is reviewed by the Office of Student Aid. Adjustments to need-based aid sources are completed as required by appropriate laws, regulations, and policies.
