Admission - Research Master's
Research Master's (M.A., M.S.) Degree Requirements Policy GCAC-630
In addition to the general Graduate Council requirements for admission, adequate preparation is required for those who wish to successfully pursue a graduate degree.
- Applicants to research master’s degree programs must meet the Graduate Council’s basic admission requirements (see GCAC-301 Qualifications for Admission).
- The specific undergraduate preparation required, including specific courses and the total number of undergraduate credits required, is determined by the graduate program, as approved through the Graduate Council curricular review process.
- An applicant who meets the necessary grade-point average but is deficient in course preparation may, under certain circumstances, be provisionally admitted to the Graduate School and be allowed to make up the undergraduate deficiencies. Under these circumstances the program will require more than the necessary period of residence. (See GCAC-303 Provisional Admission).
