Purpose
To define conditions under which graduate students may earn credits by examination.

The Graduate Faculty believes strongly that all credit earned towards a graduate degree must be a result of formal class work (regardless of delivery method), not an examination.
Policy Statement
- Examinations to establish credit for work done in absentia or without formal class work may be used to remove undergraduate deficiencies.
- Examinations to establish credit for work done in absentia or without formal class work may not be used to earn credits toward a graduate degree.
Process
Arrangements for undergraduate credit by examination are made by the student directly with the graduate program head.
