Scope

All graduate students.

The Graduate Faculty believes strongly that all credit earned towards a graduate degree must be a result of formal class work (regardless of delivery method), not an examination.

Policy Statement

  1. Examinations to establish credit for work done in absentia or without formal class work may be used to remove undergraduate deficiencies.
  2. Examinations to establish credit for work done in absentia or without formal class work may not be used to earn credits toward a graduate degree.

Process

Arrangements for undergraduate credit by examination are made by the student directly with the graduate program head.
