There is one particular weekend in the month of March that creates an enduring sense of pride for the entire Graduate School community. I hope you will gain an appreciation for why that weekend is so meaningful and significant when you read the articles included in this issue of the Graduate School Alumni Newsletter.
Forty-one graduate students received awards for their research and creative scholarship in the 33rd annual Graduate Exhibition, held March 23 and 25 on Penn State's University Park campus. A complete list of winners is available below.
Penn State doctoral alumni celebrating the 10th, 25th, and 50th anniversary of receiving their doctorate returned to University Park for the Graduate School’s annual Doctoral Alumni Recognition Luncheon on March 24 in Kern Graduate Building.
H. Steven “Hank” Seifert is the 2018 recipient of the Penn State Graduate School Alumni Society Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented to alumni who have achieved exceptional success throughout the course of their career and have demonstrated loyalty to the University and the Alumni Association.
Penn State Graduate School alumnus David Will received the Graduate School Alumni Society Humanitarian Award. This award recognizes an alumnus/alumna holding a graduate degree from Penn State who has made a positive societal impact on the welfare of humankind beyond the responsibilities of one’s profession.
Penn State President Eric Barron presented 11 awards to more than 30 graduate students in recognition of outstanding achievement during the annual Graduate Student Awards Luncheon, held April 25 at the Nittany Lion Inn.
