Graduate Exhibition
March 24 & 26, 2017
A message from Dr. Regina Vasilatos-Younken

Allow me a moment to promote the crown jewel of the Graduate School’s annual events involving our students: our Graduate Exhibition. Scheduled this year for Friday, March 24, and Sunday, March 26, the Exhibition is a celebration of research and creative scholarship. For our students, the Exhibition offers a venue to showcase scholarly work to people outside their field of study, and to learn about the work of their fellow students. It is a chance to step out of disciplinary boundaries and engage in the larger University community.

Importantly, the Exhibition is the only event at Penn State where the full breadth and diversity of scholarly work conducted at the University is displayed in a single venue, and it is absolutely stunning! Not insignificantly, we also offer monetary first, second and third prizes in each of the broad disciplinary categories. If you reside in the Centre Region of Pennsylvania or within driving distance of University Park, or if you will be traveling within reasonable proximity of State College the weekend of March 24-26, I hope you will consider attending the Exhibition. I promise a memorable experience.

During the same weekend as the Exhibition, the Graduate School will honor Doctoral Alumni who are commemorating the 50th, 25th and 10th anniversary of receiving their doctorate at Penn State. The Wall of Honor Ceremony in the Kern Graduate Building Lobby, scheduled for March 25, is a tribute to the distinguished legacy of academic and career achievement created by our doctoral Alumni.

With great anticipation, I look forward to honoring these students and alumni who truly are sources of inspiration and pride for our entire Graduate School community.
